Dhrishyam is a recent Malayalam movie directed by Jeethu Joseph. The movie attracted all the viewers by its new style of presentation. Mohan Lal is the hero in the movie and Meena plays the role of his wife which is inferior to Him in all the way. The movie starts like a simple family story and gradually it takes a form of an interesting crime thriller. I liked the movie but Iam extremely disappointed by the way in which the ladies are presented and also by the motive for commiting the crime which is outdated by all standards. Mohan Lal's daughter kills her school mate as he has her video clip on his mobile phone. In this computer age it is so easy to capture photos or videos of anyone and it is unbelievable that a girl commiting murder for this. Dhrishyam gives a negative message to women and also gives them a stereotypical roles. Still it is one of the most loved recent movie for malayalis.
